RESEARCH.
EDUCATION.
LEADERSHIP.

I’ve been lucky to have a career split between the academic world and the public policy arena. This website will provide examples of many fascinating issues and projects I’ve been fortunate to tackle, in partnership with public and private sector collaborators.
I’m a subject matter expert on retail financial services markets and consumer financial choices. The bulk of my academic career has been devoted to running university-based policy research centers on those issues, but I also have nearly a decade of experience putting financial education programs into the field on a local, regional and national scale.
Since 2015 I’ve focused on improving retention and graduation rates for college students at the University of Arizona as the Bart Cardon Associate Dean for Career and Academic Services in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. We are laser-focused on improving economic opportunity and lifetime income trajectories for our students by getting them to graduation with the technical and career skills necessary to be nationally competitive for jobs in their fields.

I hope you use this site as a place to discover new ideas, research, and opinions on some of the world's most pressing financial and educational issues.
